Paradigmz expands coverage of the Mercer salary survey to Saudi Arabia12 August 2004In a move to expand the coverage of the Mercer salary survey to other GCC countries, Paradigmz, the Middle East's leading performance consulting firm, has announced the launch of the first Mercer Total Remuneration Survey (TRS) for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The data is being reported as on August 1st, with participant companies from leading sectors as IT, FMCG, Banking and Oil & Gas and the final reports will be released within the last week of November 2004. "Mercer's salary survey is unique by being administered and processed online, worldwide. Mercer's online market pricing tool, Mercer PayMonitor, provides 24 hours direct access to the highest-quality and most comprehensive compensation data available. In four simple steps, one can develop standard or customised market levels for your positions globally at anytime, from anywhere in the world. This on-demand web-based customisation capability is unparalleled in the industry and gives one the edge to instantly measure their competitiveness in specific markets and industries," noted Aman Merchant, CEO of Paradigmz. "The economic indicators in KSA illustrate a reinvigorated perspective for the Saudi economy this year, with 2003 being one of the best years in the past decade in terms of real economic growth. With a registered 3.6 million non-Saudi labor force and with the government efforts to introduce wide-ranging reforms in the labor market, education and training, the organisations in the kingdom are facing new challenges in managing their talent - that's where access to accurate and comprehensive compensation data is critical", added Merchant. In its efforts to provide direct and precise connection between human capital practices and organisational performance, Paradigmz and Mercer will provide detailed studies of the Saudi market competitiveness, reflected in the typical salary practices and compensation mix, employee turnover, employment trends, as well as a variety of economic indicators related to human resource management decisions. The Paradigmz team is committed to provide superior service before and after the survey and will provide clients with hard copies of the reports, CDs and Pay Monitor Access. "Each company receives personalised assistance in the job matching and/or job evaluation process. Mercer combines the job matching with its proprietary International Position Evaluation System (IPE), a simple and user-friendly tool, which provides flexibility in processing non-benchmarked jobs. Organisations already using other position evaluation systems can easily adapt Mercer's methodology using specially designed conversion tables," concluded Merchant. "We have been delighted with the success of our TRS in the UAE, and believe that this new survey enables us to provide existing and potential Saudi clients with access to our world-class compensation tools and services and stay on track for our TRS expansion plans in the Middle East", said Cameron Hannah, Head of Consulting in Middle East for Mercer Human Resource Consulting. Paradigmz launches the 2004 Mercer Total Remuneration Survey19 April 2004Following last year's success, Paradigmz, the Middle East's leading performance consulting firm, has announced the launch of the 2004 Mercer Salary Survey for the UAE. "Whether is a local, regional or global operation, each company requires economic indicators and compensation planning information to make strategic business decisions. Mercer's surveys, covering more than 60 countries, are among the best used and best-established on the market today and each Total Remuneration Survey (TRS) includes a set of core benchmark positions and provides the ability to compare pay and benefits levels, both locally and globally", noted Aman Merchant, CEO of Paradigmz, the performance consulting division of Leading Concepts. The UAE TRS offers invaluable benefits by providing one consistent data source, with participation of the country's leading multinational and local companies, while providing streamlined data submission options which makes the participation process easy and efficient. It provides all-industry and industry specific results, as well as personalised assistance and reports for each company, with Paradigmz's consultants assisting in the job matching and job evaluation process, which provides flexibility in processing non-benchmark jobs. Delivering the results via the Internet through Mercer's PayMonitor tool allows companies to analyse the survey according to each entity's individual needs, providing customised results at no additional fees. The 2003 Total Remuneration Survey covered four key sectors (High-Tech, FMCG, Banking, Advertising and Retail) as well other major sectors (Manufacturing, Advertising, Medical Equipment, Automobiles, Government, Shipping), and the results revealed considerable differences between local and multinational organisations, and across industries. As a forecast for 2004, the survey indicated that UAE-based companies are projecting average salary increases up to 7.7%. "Launching the 2004 TRS, we have taken client feedback from 2003 and introduced several enhancements to the process, tools, technology and reporting aspects of participation in the survey. With the planned increase in the number of industries participating in this year's survey, we are confident that like last year, the Mercer TRS will prove to be of immense value to the UAE's leading firms as they strive to find the best balance between external competitiveness and internal equity", concluded Aman Merchant. Employers project overall pay increases of 7.7% next year, according to new survey11 November 2003UAE-based companies are projecting average salary increases of up to 7.7% for 2004, according to a new survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting. "Early indicators suggest that UAE organisations are optimistic about their prospects for next year," said Aman Merchant, Chief Executive Officer of Paradigmz, Mercer's exclusive strategic alliance partner in the region. "Despite a tough year, both politically and economically, organisations are predicting pay increases well above inflation and only slightly behind last year's average rise of 8.5%." Results show considerable differences between local and multinational organisations, and across industries, with multiantionals placing a stronger emphasis on variable pay and long-term incentives. Across industry sectors, variable pay is most common in finance/banking and IT. Employers in the IT and FMCG industries were found to be the highest payers at top level positions. Interestingly, overall remuneration levels were almost double for multinational organisations than for local employers. "We are delighted with the response to our pay survey in the UAE, and look forward to conducting it again next year. As a world leader in compensation and benefits consulting, the addition of the UAE to our survey has enabled us to expand our portfolio to over 60 countries globally," said Cameron Hannah, Worldwide Partner and head of consulting in the Middle East at Mercer. Data for Mercer's Total Remuneration Survey was collected from 45 leading governmental, private and multinational organisations across the UAE. Using an online tool, the participants are able to analyse their results and compare pay and benefit levels against industry benchmarks both locally and globally.
